Welcome! 

I think we can all agree that the past year has been full of challenges. Covid-19 (The Coronavirus) and its effects have touched many people's lives both in our St Louis community and the World. In an effort to spread Hope & Encouragement in our community, we are so excited to announce our inaugural The Art Of HOPE Art Contest & Scholarship! What better way to spread hope and bring smiles but by the Power of The Arts?! 

We sure hope that you stopped by to apply! First, let's just go over some of the eligibility requirements to make sure that you can apply: 

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

Each participant MUST be a current 6th, 7th or 8th grade student currently enrolled in St. Louis Public School District. 

 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: 

There are 3 parts that have to be submitted. Please read and follow the instructions carefully. Each participant MUST submit: 

1) The Art of HOPE Art Contest & Scholarship Application which includes an original essay (300 words or less) answering the question, ' What does the word HOPE mean to YOU?' AND how your artwork displays that. 

2) Your own, original, 2 dimensional, piece of artwork on the provided paper. Your artwork should display what the word HOPE means to you. If you are submitting your application via our website, the provided template paper will be sent to you via email after submitting Part 1 of your online application. You MUST use the provided template paper to be considered for the contest. The following media will be accepted: 

Paint 

Oil Pastels 

Crayon 

Colored Marker 

Colored Pencils  

Mixed Media Collage (please glue firmly and use flat materials) 

3) A consent form signed by a parent/guardian giving permission to participate in our contest and to share your artwork. 

 

HOW TO GET AN APPLICATION: 

There are 3 ways that you can get an application for The Art of HOPE Art Contest & Scholarship: 

1) Go online to our website at www.ShabachArtsMinistry.org and apply online 

2) Request a physical copy of the application be mailed to you by emailing info@ShabachArtsMinistry.org. Please include your name and complete mailing address and print clearly. 

3) Mail us at 224 N. Hwy 67  Suite 130  Florissant, MO. 63031 to request an application by mail. Please include your name and complete mailing address and please print clearly.

 

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION: 

1) Mail your application and artwork to:

2) Submit Part 1 of your application via our website at www.ShabachArtsMinistry.org and emailing A CLEAR SCAN of your artwork, created on the provided paper, to info@ShabachArtsMinistry.org. Photo scans can be done at Office Depot, FedEx and other similar stores. The resolution of the scan MUST be at least 500 dpi ( dots per inch).

3) Submit your application via our website at www.ShabachArtsMinistry.org and emailing your DIGITAL ARTWORK, created on the provided template, to info@ShabachArtsMinistry.org. If using Photoshop (JPEG file), Adobe Illustrator ( ai file), InDesign (indd file).

ALL submissions, which include all 3 parts, OPEN FRIDAY APRIL 23RD and are DUE NO LATER THAN MONDAY MAY 24TH BY 11:59 PM CST
